Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers reported they were notified by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for details.

A senior representative said the attack made him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
