First Story: Key Player Palmer Fit for Important London Clash with Arsenal

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is ready to play for the team's significant top-flight encounter against London rivals Arsenal.

The young England midfielder was out of action due to a fractured toe suffered after an accidental occurrence.

“He is ready to start and participate,” Maresca declared. “All involved are pleased.”

In the current campaign, Palmer has been limited to four outings across all competitions, finding the net on two occasions.

Since his arrival from City in 2023, he has recorded 45 strikes and 29 setups in 101 games for the London club.

“He is our best player, we are pleased he is back, we need to provide him with time to be completely ready,” Maresca continued. “His past performances have been excellent and no doubt he is going to do very good for this club in the future.”

Second Story: Everton Receive No Reason for Failed Gueye Red Card Appeal

Everton have failed in their protest against Idrissa Gueye's sending off for an on-field altercation with fellow player Michael Keane during the squad's single-goal triumph at Manchester United.

The veteran Senegalese player was shown a red card only 13 minutes into the game after slapping Keane during a disagreement over a poor pass.

Gueye promptly expressed regret, and the pair were seen making up later in a light-hearted social media video.

However, the challenge against the dismissal was denied, and Gueye must serve a three-game suspension, leaving Everton short-staffed for their upcoming match against Newcastle United.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” coach the manager said. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

When asked about more issues from the incident, Moyes added: “It ended right away, it was done, that was it, we moved on rapidly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

3. Wissa Trains with The Magpies for Initial Session since Injury

Newcastle United's recent acquisition Yoane Wissa has practiced with his squad for the first time since suffering a knee problem shortly after his arrival from Brentford in September.

Head coach Eddie Howe confirmed the development on Friday but withheld a potential return date for the player.

Newcastle signed the striker for a significant fee to fill the void left by Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool for a record-breaking transfer fee.

Regrettably, Wissa was hurt while on international duty before he could play his first game for Newcastle.

“His recovery is going smoothly, he trained with us for the first time on Wednesday, so I was very happy with how he looked,” Howe said. “It was his initial competitive session with the team. Let’s see how he responds today.”

Howe added: “We’ve got [a return date] in mind, but it’s probably best if I withhold that information. We wish to prevent any disappointment. Of course, we want to involve him as promptly.”

In other news, Kieran Trippier will be sidelined for a month with a hamstring issue.

4. Liverpool' Poor Form ‘Irrelevant’, Insists Hammers Manager Nuno

The Hammers manager Nuno Espírito Santo has insisted that the reigning champions' current slump “is largely irrelevant” as his side prepares to face the struggling top-flight title holders.

Arne Slot's side has suffered six losses in seven recent Premier League games, falling out of the upper half of the standings.

Nevertheless, Nuno highlighted that there can be no complacency when the teams meet on the weekend at the London Stadium.

West Ham will have available Lucas Paquetá after his suspension, while Crysencio Summerville and Dinos Mavropanos are stepping up their return from fitness issues.

5. Morgan Gibbs-White Could Feature for Forest against Brighton

The club's boss Sean Dyche is hopeful that Morgan Gibbs-White will be ready for the side's home match against Brighton on Sunday.

The England player missed the midweek Europa League match against Malmö due to a back issue.

“Fortunately, it seems to be calming down,” Dyche commented as he prepared to face the Brighton manager's team, who have secured a decent haul from their past three matches.

“It’s like a bad back, but a morning sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not expecting, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s easing already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be fine for the weekend.”

The defender was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring after the comfortable European win, but Dyche said the player “is expected to be okay”.

Meanwhile, Ola Aina (thigh injury), the midfielder (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), the striker (knee), and Oleksandr Zinchenko (hip) are expected to miss out.

Sixth Story: Oliver Glasner: European Loss Won't Hinder Palace

The Eagles head coach Oliver Glasner feels that the disappointment of Thursday's Conference League loss to Strasbourg is a sign of how much progress the club has come in challenging on multiple fronts.

The domestic cup winners took the lead at Stade de la Meinau through Tyrick Mitchell's opening period goal but were equalized against by Liam Rosenior's team, who moved up to second in the table.

Crystal Palace now switch focus to Premier League competition with a home fixture against the Red Devils, and Glasner is optimistic his team can maintain their push for a top four spot.

“Similar to the late loss against Everton, it just feels that it was totally avoidable and it is our fault,” Glasner commented. “Alternatively, we have to accept it. The commitment was there but it is a game we could have avoided losing.”
